Laragh Community Garden Open Day May 7th Spring is finally here and there is plenty of activity in the Community Garden. We planted several plum trees and a large number of apple trees, many of which are now in blossom and looking great. The outside plots have been ploughed and rotavated ready for potato planting and for all the other exciting vegetables people are going to grow! In the poly-tunnel, spinach, lettuce and chard are already being harvested while tomatoes, beetroot and carrots are starting to flourish. Several new people have joined us and taken on plots of their own to grow their own produce – but there is still room for lots more (just bring your own spade). Why not join us – phone Declan Murphy on 086- 1697739 or Finian McEvoy on 086-2476822. The Community Garden is having an open day on 7 th May between 2 and 4 pm so do come and have a look around. Bring the children too but please keep dogs on leads. Tea and biscuits will be provided. (From the small car park opposite the post office in Laragh follow the track leading down along the road and the garden is in front of you).
