Tidy Towns Competition 2016
Congratulations to Laragh and Glendalough Tidy Towns Committee with their results in this year’s competition. Their hard work over the year is very appreciated by the community and their efforts are an important aspect in community living. Hopefully in 2017 they will receive even more support from local businesses and the whole community, remember to pick up any rubbish while out walking or join the group on their regular tidy up gatherings. Mindful Athletic Performance Workshop This course is for athletes who would like to get more from their sports performance, be more present and in the moment when training or competing, learn to modify their behaviour with awareness, overcome negative beliefs or thoughts that are holding your performance back, would like to achieve and realize their goals. GAA for Under 8yrs
Every Friday from 6pm to 7pm at the Brockagh Resource Centre during the Winter months training is held in the main hall. Call Christopher on 087 9661075 for more information.
Taekwon-Do for Older Children and Adults
Older children and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentration, channeling aggression, balance, coordination, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Go For Life
Go for Life active retirement group are at the Brockagh Centre on Tuesday morning starting at 11am. So if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise come along on Tuesday next. For further information call the Brockagh Centre on (0404) 45600 or drop in any Tuesday at 11am.
Happy Days
Happy Days has started and is from 10.30 to 12.00 weekly. We would like to invite people with babies and young child to come for a social morning with their children for some play, chat and of course light refreshments. Contact Sandra 0404-45600at the centre for more information.
County Wicklow Network for Older People Seminar 2016
During the recent consultation on the development of an Age Friendly Strategy for Co.Wicklow concern was expressed over the lack of information on various issues including rights and entitlements. Co.Wicklow Network for Older People are holding this seminar to provide a forum to provide information on some of the issues raised and discuss area of concern. Venue is the Glendalough Hotel on Fri 18th, of November from 10.45am to 3pm (Registration tea/coffee: 10am-1045am). Contact Garvan Hickey on 087 1526205 or Frances Creegan at 085 8006872. Cinderella Show
It’s show time for Cinders on December 17th and 18th at the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh and on January, 2017 on the 14th and 15th in Celbridge. Messy Play at Happy Days
Messy Play is coming to the Brockagh Centre on November, wed 16th at 11am. The classes give babies, toddlers and preschoolers the opportunity to come together and discover everyday materials in a new and exciting way within a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. At Messy Play you can expect to find, painting, water, sand, dough, gloop, jelly, flour, spaghetti, mud and much more, each class is different. Tea Dance
On the 27th of November there will be a tea dance at the Brockagh Resource Centre from 3pm to 6pm with music by The Wicklow Man. Pre-Christmas fun before a busy December kicks in, a spacious hall where you can dance away the afternoon, brightening the winter months with old and new friends. Groups from any area are very welcome, large or small just call 0404 45600 to book in a group.
