Notice from the Irish Deer Society
Please be aware that it is the height of the fawning season for all our deer species and will continue on until approximately the end of June or later if you happen across a fawn do not approach or touch it or allow dogs to approach or disturb it it’s mother is not far away and if you touch it the mother will most likely abandon it if you are unsure contact your local NPWS ranger immediately.
Unfortunately over the last few days there has been numerous queries regarding this where people have picked them up and brought them home don’t forget these are wild animals and will have more chance of survival if left alone.
