Laragh Glendalough Tidy Towns News
Thank you to Wicklow County Council for delivering new planters this week at the digital Glendalough parking sign in the centre of our village.
Improvements have been going ahead this month at a rapid rate with a big thank you to our new CE worker and all his efforts.
In Beechwood Estate residents have been doing great work, trimming edges, installing a new compost area, cutting back over growth and new planting so well done to all of them involved.
Supervalu Tidy Towns competition judges will be visiting the village at any time now. Efforts by all community members will make a difference to our result for 2025. Thank you.

Meet at the National Park Information Office, Upper Lake, Glendalough.
Booking is not required. This is a free event, although parking charges apply.
Please bring a torch. Midge repellent or a midge net are advisable.
Our Bat Walks are always popular. Join us to see (and hear) some of the National Park’s bats. We start at the Information Office to watch the Soprano Pipistrelles emerge from their roost in the attic. Families with young children may want to stay only for this first part of the event, if they would prefer an early night. After the emergence, we proceed on a short walk, with bat detectors picking up the sounds of the bats overhead, including Leisler’s bat, our largest bat species. We aim to watch Daubenton’s bats flying low over water too. The full event usually takes about one and a half to two hours. For more info, please phone 0404 45425.
