Fundraising Variety Cabaret

Come along to the Glendalough Hotel on Friday 10th of November at 9pm for a Variety Cabaret in aid of Laragh village defibrillator. Enjoy a great night out featuring Johnny Stafford and guests. Tickets can be purchased from the Brockagh Resource Centre(0404 45600), Laragh or Denis Carter with admission only €5.

Christmas Afternoon Tea Dance

Come along to our pre-Christmas tea dance on Sunday November 19th from 3pm to 6pm. Cover charge of only €5 with refreshments provided. All groups must book in advance with the Brockagh Centre by calling us on 0404 45600.

A Beginners Skib Workshop: This workshop is very enjoyable and covers some basic basket making techniques. Dates available are November 11th, January 14th and 21st. Reindeer Sculpture Workshop: Participants will build their own reindeer from willow for their garden for Christmas. This  Some previous experience in basket making would be beneficial. November 19th. Willow Christmas Tree Workshop: half day workshop. Participants will learn to apply basic weaving techniques to create a conical shaped willow free standing tree. December 2nd. Beginners Sciathog Shopping Basket Workshop: Participants will learn to make a small shopping basket on a round or oval frame with a handle. A good beginner’s workshop. December 9th.

Wicklow Willow Courses 2018

Intermediate Round Shopping Basket Workshop: It is more intense than other workshops and it would require previous experience making baskets. February 3rd. Scarecrow Building Workshop: this workshop for those of you who are interested in decorating your garden come the Spring with a beautiful willow scarecrow March 24th and 25th.

Co.Wicklow Older Person’s Council Seminar 2017

Celebrating 10 years on the 24th of November in the Glendalough Hotel, registration at 9.45 and 10.15, ending at 3pm. Registration for the seminar in advance, forms can be completed by individuals or groups. Forms to be returned to Richella Wood by November 10th either by post or by email to agefriendly@wicklowcoco.ie. Admission €5 and can be paid on the day. Babushka boxes will also be collected on the day.

Tae kwon-Do for Youths and Adults                                                                                      

Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentration, channeling aggression, balance, coordination, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Call Master Kenneth Wheatley on 087-2547347 for further information. Classes are on Tuesdays at 7.45-8.45pm (Seniors & Teens).

Glendalough and Laragh Active Retirement

AR  next lunch is on the 7th November in Glenmalure Lodge.  A  Christmas shopping trip to the Liffey Valley is planned for 28th November. The Christmas party dinner is taking place at Kilashee Hotel in Kildare 4th December. Christmas Fair

We are still taking bookings for this year’s Christmas Fair on Sunday the 10th Dec. As a customer you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value. Bring along the family to see Santa arriving in a carriage at 1pm. Happy Days                                                                                                                              

Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre(break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with Crafts, Messy Play, Music and Activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/storytime and of course light refreshments are provided. Flower Classes

A series of flower classes are being planned for the autumn at the Brockagh Centre. The sessions can cover everything from basic methods to modern designs for a variety of occasions.
