Glendalough Car Boot Sales                                                                                                   

Unfortunately our Sun 4th March Car Boot had to be cancelled because of the weather but do join us for the next Car Boot on Easter Sunday. Bargains to be snapped up on items like, collectables, clothes and accessories, books, candles, gifts for upcoming birthdays and of course get your appetite working with some delicious, wholesome home baking. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Packer High School Chorus Visits Laragh 

We welcome Packer High School Chorus from New York to the Brockagh Resource Centre on Tuesday the 20th March from 11.15 to 12pm, free entry for everyone to see their musical performance all the way from the USA.

Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am. Part-time Maintenance Person

St. Kevin’s Parish has a vacancy for a temporary, part-time maintenance person. The applicant must be in receipt of an appropriate social welfare (DEASP) payment to qualify for the Community Employment scheme. Maintenance Person/Car Park Attendant

The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenance person/car park attendant. Applications must be received by noon on Friday 23rd March. Applicants must be eligible for the Community Services Programme (eligibility is confined to those in receipt of certain DEASP payments, e.g. a jobseeker’s payment, one parent family payment, disability allowance, invalidity pension, etc., stabilised or recovering drug mis-users and ex-prisoners). It is also essential to have good people skills and be a good time-keeper. Duties will include interior maintenance, lifting (moving tables and chairs), gardening and supervision of the car park on certain weekends. Cycle4Familes

Ronald McDonald House will be doing their annual cycle on Saturday 28th of April at Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort, Blessington. There will be a 100km through the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap, 50km twice around the Blessington Lakes and 25km cycle once around Blessington Lakes. Registration at 9am with starting time 10am. Free Computer Course

Our next free 5-week digital skills computer course will be starting on 16th of March. This informal course  includes online banking, apps, online government services, email, shopping online, online TV players, podcasts, photographs, security and much more. This course is for beginners or someone who is rarely online and wants to up skill. Call the Brockagh Resource Centre on 0404 45600 or email laraghit@eircom.net.

 

Tai Chi and QiGong                                                                                                                        

Classes teach you very powerful tools which help to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Badminton  Junior and Seniors                                                                                         

Badminton classes are on Mon evenings in the Brockagh Centre at 7pm (Junior 4th class up) with Seniors from 8pm and on Thursday evenings with a repeat of the same classes. Contact Finian on 086 247 6822.

 

Morning Yoga with Louise

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga                                                                                                                                  

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. AA Meetings                                                                                                                             

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night all year round.
