Footfalls Wicklow Walking Festival

The Festival will be based in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh from Friday 26th to Mon 29th of October with many of the walks taking us through Wicklow Mountains National Park. All walks are led by experienced walking leaders who will enhance your day with information on local history flora and fauna. The weekend offers a selection of walking choices which you can mix, match, or just choose one. Go For Life Physical Activity Leaders (PALs) Workshops

Go for Life, working with Wicklow Sports Partnership are holding a series of workshops for older people who are interested in organising and physical activities with members of their groups/clubs/organisations.  Participants do not need to have any background or formal experience in leading physical activities. These workshops take place all over the country throughout the year and thousands of older people have participated to date and gone on to lead a wide range of physical activities in their own groups and communities. The Workshop venue is the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, from 10am to 3pm with a daily lunch included. Wicklow Uplands Council Photo Competition 2018 Winners

Congradulations, to everyone who had their wonderful photos displayed, at Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh for the 2018 Competition. The following winners were announced by Wicklow Uplands Council with over €500 in prizes, Under 14yrs: Lana Woodward-10yrs old. Rural Landscape Category: 1st Prize in this category and also the overall winner is Paula Podnar for her image called Family Portrait. 2nd Prize Mary Traynor-Stone Wall, Lugglass. Towns and Villages Category: 1st Prize Kevin Barrett-Avoca, 2nd Prize Chris Bolton-Viaduct Rathdrum. Activities Category:  1st Prize Brendan Cullen-Enduro World Championships, 2nd Prize Sonia Lebarbe-Shearing of Sheep.

Happy Days

Happy Days is back on Oct the 3rd and will continue on Wednesday mornings 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre, Laragh. Parents, babies and toddlers get together, have lots of fun weeks with art & crafts and make new friends. It is also a great way to meet and socialize with parents, especially if you are new to the area. Contact us at 0404-45600 at the centre for more information.

Evening Yoga with Viva Viva’s yoga classes are for beginners to intermediate on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre. Improve your fitness strength and flexibility in a relaxing way. Wear comfortable clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night. You can contact Viva on 086 3409629 for more information.

Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. A great way to meet new people while getting fitter at a moderate pace. Call Lucy at 086 310 7511 if you have any questions.

Citizen’s Information Clinic

The Citizens Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 am until noon on the first and third Tuesday of each month. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.
