Laragh Badminton Club

The club held their annual draw at the Brockagh Resource Centre on Aug 11th with some great prizes. Winners of the draw in order were Mark Duffy who won the mega hamper followed by winners Jacob Delamere, Brendan Ward, Rhys Byrne, Barry Byrne, David Dowling, and Michael Riordan. Congratulations to the winners and thank you for all the community’s support.

Glendalough Heritage Forum

We Love Art

Art and crafts classes for children of primary school age take place on Monday afternoons. Classes cover a wide range of art and craft techniques and processes, giving kids an outlet for creative self-expression while learning new skills.  Classes are small and places must be reserved in advance, the first class is free for new students. Adult Art Classes

Moved now to Mon morning, drawing and painting classes are suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters.  Students choose the medium(s) with which they wish to work, and develop their interests and personal style with Almha’s advice and guidance.  If you are thinking of getting back into your art, or trying something new to explore your creative side, now is a good time!  Classes are at 11-12.30pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Violin Lessons

Violin teacher on in the Brockagh Resource Centre generally on Thurs from 1-2pm and Sat, 11-12pm but this may vary as needed. All types of music for beginners to advanced levels. Elevation Dance School

Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, Acro Dance, Ballet ISTD and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style. ESPA holds weekly classes at the Brockagh centre. Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am. Free Car Park In Laragh

Wicklow Co. Co. had opened a new free car park in Laragh. This is a secure facility with staff on duty, and shall be open daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. It is located beside the Woollen Mills and GAA grounds in Laragh and is well sign-posted.The car park is perfect for hill walkers with access along the beautiful Green Road to Glendalough and all its walking trails. You can even avoid the valley floor if you wish by following the orange trail up towards Derrybawn, the Spinc and Mullacor. Three long distance trails also pass nearby – the Wicklow Way, St. Kevin’s Way and the Avonmore Way.
