Laragh Glendalough Notes Week Beg 9th Nov

Santa Is Coming!

Given the state of affairs and the possibility that all Santa events and outings may not go ahead with the restrictions this year, Danny Devitt has decided to put a Santa suit (gloves and mask under beard so covid friendly) and deliver a small gift to each child in the Glendalough, Laragh and Annamoe village. Should you like to have a socially distant door visit from him we ask that you wrap a small gift for your child, clearly label the name of your child and put your house number or eircode on it. Collection of gifts will be organised closer to the time. The Santa visit will take place roughly between 5pm and 7pm on several days in December (the dates to be confirmed depending on numbers.) If you’re interested could you please contact Danny Devitt via facebook, or email dannydevittmunster78@gmail.com or jenn.ck@gmail.com.

As this is free of charge there will be a bucket collection for Ronald McDonald house and Crumlin children’s hospital to spread some joy to the families and their sick children so all donations appreciated.

Laragh Christmas Tree Lights

A big thank you to everyone who helped put up the Christmas lights in Laragh village over the weekend. The main outdoor event can not go ahead due to public health advice and the safety of our community. This year we have been unable to hold any fundraising events so we are asking for any support to help us keep improving our lights. There is  a go fund page if anybody is in a position to donate for lighting improvements. Follow the gofundme.com link on our Facebook page to donate at https://www.facebook.com/laragh.christmaslights.

We are very lucky to have had amazing support from all our local businesses since we started putting up our lights however this year we will not be asking for support from them in what has been a very challenging time for all businesses. Instead we ask you all to shop local in these coming months.
