Active Retirement Laragh

Unfortunately we had to cancel our weekly get-to-togethers as the whole country went into lockdown back in March. This was extremely hard on our members as the majority of them had to go into isolation from family and friends. But thankfully on the plus side the weather was fantastic and they could enjoy the long sunny days. Some members participated in online yoga and those that were on social media were able to keep in contact with other members. We had tried to arrange a few coffee mornings when lockdown was eased but unfortunately had to cancel due to ongoing restrictions.

The group will be returning in the New Year, we have no date as yet. As soon as we know we will let everyone know.

The group meets every Tuesday morning at 11am in the Brockagh Centre and they have a great line up of activities each week. So if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, dancing and music come along on Tuesdays. The group meet for lunch once a month at various local venues (new members welcome).

This Christmas the staff in the Brockagh Centre contacted the AR Committee members and  organised Christmas hampers for all members which were a nice surprise for them. We would like to thank everyone who helped out, offered their time and skills to the group throughout the year. If anyone would like to offer their services or share their skills with the group in the New Year please contact the centre.  For more information call Denise on 0404 45600 or drop in to the centre. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Hopefully we’ll be back early enough in the New Year, looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones.
