Laragh Glendalough Notes Week Beg 22nd Nov 2021

Brockagh Christmas Market 2021

Our very popular Christmas Market is back on Sunday, November 28th from 10am to 3pm. As always, there will be a great selection of gifts, with many handmade items, perfect for that unusual Christmas present. Why not treat yourself to a coffee and a mince pie while you are browsing for the perfect gift while supporting local traders. If you have any questions or would like a trader booking form, contact Michelle on 040445600 or Email brockaghoffice@gmail.com.

Trail Closure

Please be advised that the Lower Lake Boardwalk, Glendalough will be closed from Monday 15th November 2021, to allow for the removal of non-native trees. We estimate that the Lower Lake Boardwalk will remain closed for a period of two weeks. Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages and our website for updates regarding re-opening.

For visitors planning to walk the Green Road Walk (Green Route) or the Woodland Walk (Silver Route), please be advised to use the Green Road for the duration of the Lower Lake Boardwalk closure.

The National Park Information Point is open daily from 9:30am to 16:30pm. The guide on duty will be happy to answer any queries you may have about any of our walking trails. Free copies of the Walking Trails of Glendalough map are also available here. Or call us on 0404 45425 during opening hours. We thank you for your cooperation.

Laragh Christmas Lights Event Change

Following a lot of discussion and in light of the increase in Covid cases and public health advice we are disappointed to say we will not be going ahead with the planned Christmas event on the green.

Santa is still very keen to see all our Christmas Lights and he will turn them on at 6 o clock on Saturday 27th from a secret location and he will then drive through the village. People are welcome to stand across our community while adhering to social distancing to give Santa a wave. We will update you this week with his route via FB.

We feel this is the safest decision as the safety and well being of all our community is the most important thing in the lead up to Christmas.
