The countdown for our annual Christmas Market is on so come along to the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh this Sunday, 4th Dec 2022 from 10am to 3pm. We have such a wonderful selection of stalls this year with many gifts and treats to choose from. Making your Christmas shopping experience a pleasure. Brockagh Christmas Carboot Sun 11th

Every year our Car Boot has a special day for Christmas celebrating everything festive so if you want more decorations or some last minute gifts come along and shop with great bargains to be had. Open to the public from 10am to 3pm.Tea, coffee and food snacks are available. Free parking and customer toilet facilities.

The barrier will be locked from 6pm Saturday evening until 8am Sunday morning. You can contact us by phone 0404 45600 (Wed-Fri 9am to 2pm) or email carbootbrockagh@gmail.com. All stallholders must pre book their space or no entry on the day.

Christmas Carol Evening

‘Pause for a while in the week before Christmas, and come and join our Celebration of Old and New Christmas Carols on Tuesday 20th December in St Kevins Church at 8pm.

A time to share our tradition of bringing in the feast of Christmas with song.

A time to remember old friends and make new ones, with a cuppa and mince pies afterwards.

We look forward to seeing you there, the St. Kevin’s Choir.

Bright Stars Baby & Toddler Group

Thank you to everyone who attended  ‘Moo Music’ last week at ‘Bright Stars’, I’m sure you all agree we had an exciting morning, full of games, dressing up, musical instruments and play with the bubbles – some people even tried eating the bubbles!!. It will be back in late January and I will give plenty of notice of the date.

This Wednesday 30th November is ‘Fancy Dress’ for all attending, so put on your thinking hats and surprise us all. We’ll have Arts & Crafts for 7th December to make our own Christmas Card for our families. Lastly, our big news is that the special person himself  ‘SANTA’ will be visiting our Wednesday morning at ‘Bright Stars’ December 14th to meet with all the children and their parents/guardians at The Brockagh Centre, please keep this date free.

Annamoe Christmas Tree Lighting

Come along to Annamoe for the Christmas Tree Lighting Event at the Plantbox Coffee Dock, Dec 11th at 4pm for a Christmas celebration. Adults can buy mulled wine(non alcoholic) with mince pie for €5. Children can have hot chocolate and chocolate flavoured gingerbread men for €4 each. At 5pm we light the Christmas tree along with carol singing and beside the event will be an antique shop.

Wicklow National Park Notice

On Tuesday 29th November between 9:00am and 5:00pm there will be significant disruption for walkers on the Barnacullian Ridge (O 077 044) taking place due to Helicopter Operations transporting Bogland Restoration Materials.  We ask that all members of the public avoid this location during the period in question. For any queries please contact the National Park Duty Ranger on 087 – 980 3899.

Potentially restrictions could stretch on into the week as we are dependent on good weather to operate, so expect closures at short notice. We thank you for your co-operation.

Glendalough Visitor Experience and Management Masterplan

The Glendalough Visitor Experience and Management Masterplan will be presented to the public shortly. A consultation website on the masterplan goes live on Friday, and the draft is available for inspection in local libraries and council offices.

A public consultation meeting takes place on Tue, November 29th at the Brockagh Resource Centre, and a meeting with the Glendalough/Laragh Group has been arranged for December 6. Online consultations will run from December 5 to December 9 and the consultation closes on January 18, 2023.

Glendalough District Development Association AGM

Glendalough District Development Association AGM will be held on the Thurs 19th of January 2023 at 8.30pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre. Everyone is welcome.

The second phase of the National Voucher Scheme is due to be launched at the end of September.
