Scrap Metal Week at Brockagh Resource Centre
Monday 17th to 24th January 2022 you can drop your metal scrap up to the back of the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh(Fundraiser for the Brockagh Resource Centre). Some of the items you can bring are Biscuit tins, steel oil tanks, steel window frames, steel coal bunkers, car batteries, radiators, Solid fuel cookers, Sheep wire, bicycles, old cars without the tyres, steel wheel barrows, golf irons, etc. No Fridges, Freezers, Cookers, Timber, Plastics or Tyres. About Chair Yoga
Chair /Seated Yoga is suitable for those who find a regular yoga class too strenuous, are recovering from injury or illness or are generally less active and mobile. Classes from 11.30 to 12.30pm.
About Vinyasa Yoga
The practice will provide gentle stretching, improved strength and flexibility, as well as help students to find balance and calm in everyday life. Classes from 10am to 11.30am.
Laragh Badminton Club(returning Mon Jan 19th)
Badminton classes are in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh with Monday evenings: Juniors 7-8pm (1st yr secondary students), 8-9pm (5th & 6th Class-national school) on Thurs evenings: 6.45-7.45pm(4th class national school), 7.15-8.15pm (teenagers secondary school), Adults 8-9pm. Coniferous Tree Identification Walk
Join a National Parks & Wildlife Service guide and discover how to identify some of the non-native coniferous trees growing in the Upper Lake area of Glendalough. There will be an option at the end to see what is currently said to be Ireland’s tallest tree.
At 11am, Thursday 27th and Saturday 29th January 2022, duration is between 60 and 90 minutes for the main walk and an additional 20 minutes to see Ireland’s tallest tree.
Meet at the National Park Information Office park (eircode A98R221). Practicalities: mostly walking on the flat valley floor along hard surfaced paths and areas of grass. However there will be some short sections of steeper, stepped and rougher ground. Dress for the outdoors and wear warm clothing, good shoes or walking boots and bring waterproofs just in case. This is a free event. Except for guide or assistance dogs, dogs are not permitted on National Park events.
Parking: (€4 per car) is available at the Co. Co. Upper Lake car park (eircode A98W778).
