Wicklow Mountains National Park  

NPWS wishes to remind members of the public of dangers of lighting fires outdoors. The NPWS appeals to the public not to light fires in the National Parks and to abstain from using barbecues in our parks. Have a great weekend in the sunny weather and enjoy our parks responsibly if you visit.

Summer Brockagh Market & Car Boot

The Brockagh Market & Car Boot is once a month on the 2nd Sun(except Jan/Feb). Next event on the 14th of Aug. Open to the public from 10am to 3pm.Tea, coffee and food snacks are available. Indoor and outdoor stalls with a variety of items for sale with plenty of bargains from gifts, clothes, plants, books, toys, aloe vera products, artwork, tools, household items etc. Free parking and customer toilet facilities.

The barrier will be locked from 6pm Saturday evening until 8am Sunday morning. You can contact us by phone 0404 45600 (Wed-Fri 9am to 2pm) or email carbootbrockagh@gmail.com. All stallholders must pre book their space or no entry on the day.

Mobile Library

A mobile comes to Laragh every second Thursday from 12.15pm to 12.50pm. To renew or request items or access online resources from your PC/tablet/mobile phone please phone 087 9135229 or log into the library catalogue (if unsure of your PIN Number, ask library staff ). Email at library@wicklowcoco.ie. Next date is July  28th and the 11th of August.

Wicklow Athletics Off-Road Championship

The Wicklow Athletics Off-Road Championship is coming to Laragh on 20th of August starting from 9:30 and with finishers expected from 10:20 and until 13:00.  The races start and finish on the GAA grounds.

The clubs of Wicklow will be competing for individual and team honours across various age categories as part of the Derrybawn Woods 10k race (open for entry to the public) and on the same day as the Run the Ridge 20k event (raising funds for Glendalough AC and the juvenile section of Laragh Gaa)

There’ll be an option to support and cheer on the runners both down at the GAA grounds and out on the route (the bird-gate zig-zags will be a particularly good spot).
