Glendalough Heritage Forum

We are delighted to announce that Glendalough Community Excavations will return 8th-19th August 2022. If you have an interest in archaeology and Glendalough it is a fantastic experience. We regret we cannot offer places to those under 18 this year but we hope to welcome younger participants again next year. Adult places (subject to availability) are available from fixed blocks of two or three days. No prior knowledge of excavation is required and we endeavour to accommodate people of all abilities. For information and details of application please email glendaloughheritageforum@gmail.com.

Wicklow Athletics Off-Road Championship

The Wicklow Athletics Off-Road Championship is coming to Laragh on 20th of August starting from 9:30 and with finishers expected from 10:20 and until 13:00.  The races start and finish on the GAA grounds.

The clubs of Wicklow will be competing for individual and team honours across various age categories as part of the Derrybawn Woods 10k race (open for entry to the public) and on the same day as the Run the Ridge 20k event (raising funds for Glendalough AC and the juvenile section of Laragh Gaa)

There’ll be an option to support and cheer on the runners both down at the GAA grounds and out on the route (the bird-gate zig-zags will be a particularly good spot).
